Most local porta potties are emptied weekly, or every 100 uses. This means that large, multi-day events may require porta potty tank emptying services more frequently than once a week.

It’s a good idea to include daily cleaning of porta potties in your contract, as regular maintenance can help keep your porta potty facility clean and fresh in between emptying. You’ll also want to be sure that you have enough facilities for your event guests. Typically, people use the bathroom once every three to five hours. It’s smart to have at least one porta potty per 100 guests for every three to five hours of the event. For example, if you’re having a 10-hour event with 200 guests, you’ll want to have at least four porta potties available for their use.

Of course, it’s smart to err on the side of caution. It’s better to have more porta potties than you need, as opposed to not having enough. Once you’re set, your event will be that much closer to success.
